BEHIND THE LENS hits the red carpet for the 2022 TCM Classic Film Festival and a Carpet Chat with actor JIM BEAVER.
The sun was shining and the stars were out as Hollywood glistened with all the magic and memories of the movies, classic movies that is, as the 2022 TCM CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL returned for its first in-person celebration since 2019.
And what an Opening Night celebration it was as the festival kicked off with the 40th Anniversary screening of E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL, complete with filmmaker Steven Spielberg on hand, not to mention at least one of the film’s stars, Dee Wallace!
A truly star-studded red carpet, in addition to TCM hosts Ben Mankiewicz, Dave Karger, Eddie Muller, Alicia Malone, and Jacqueline Stewart who preside over the festival festivities, actors Jane Seymour and Aileen Quinn could be found chatting about their own 40th-anniversary films, “Somewhere in Time” and “Annie”, while Patti Pelton was swinging away talking about the 30th-anniversary screening of “A League of Their Own” and reuniting with some of her fellow Rockford Peaches, while Lawrence Hilton Jacobs was excited for a cast reunion and screening of “Cooley High”. And let’s not forget legends like celebrated animator Floyd Norman and George Stevens, Jr., founder of the Kennedy Center and the American Film Institute, or the iconic Pam Grier, as well as celebrity fans of TCM and the TCM Classic Film Festival like Juliet Mills, Kate Flannery, Mario Cantone, Dana Gould, Jim Beaver and so many more, many of whom will be doing special film introductions throughout the festival.
The 2022 TCM CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL takes place from April 21-24, 2022 in Hollywood, headquartered at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and will feature more than 100 screenings, special events and panels at the Roosevelt as well as the TCL Chinese Theatre and the TCL Chinese 6, El Capitan, and the Hollywood Legion Theater at Post 43.
