SAG Awards® nominations were announced this morning and as expected, Eddie Redmayne is among the nominees for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his performance as Stephen Hawking in ‘The Theory of Everything”.
On hearing of his nomination this morning, Eddie Redmayne had this to say:
“To be nominated by my peers, and to be included in a list that is comprised of so many actors I admire, is an incredible honor. And to be recognized alongside Felicity and my castmates means the world. Huge, huge thanks to SAG-AFTRA; I am beyond grateful.”
The Screen Actors Guild Awards® presented by SAG-AFTRA debuted in 1995 and has since become one of the industry’s most prized honors. Presenting thirteen awards for acting in film and television, the SAG Awards® are the only televised awards shows to exclusively honor performers, focusing on and that of the entire ensemble of a drama series and comedy series, and the cast of a motion picture. SAG Awards® also commends the outstanding performances by film and television stunt ensembles.
The 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 at 8 p.m. (ET) / 5 p.m. (PT).
