10th Annual TCM CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL Carpet Chat with actor KATE FLANNERY.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES and the 10th annual TCM CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL, legions of classic film fans and stars alike took to Hollywood Boulevard for the weekend-long celebration, kicking off the festivities with a star-studded Opening Night Red Carpet at the TCM Chinese Theatre. And as always, film critic debbie elias was front and center on the carpet to chat with faves and legends alike.
Blowing into town with some winds strong enough to bring Mary Poppins in from the East, you could feel the excitement in the air as the fest kicked off with a celebration for the 30th anniversary of the beloved classic, WHEN HARRY MET SALLY! And while Mary Poppins didn’t make an appearance on the Opening Night red carpet, her latest director Rob Marshall did, along with other cinematic luminaries and legacies like Sara Karloff, Barbara Rush, Diane Baker, Ron Perlman, Dan Lauria, Patty McCormack, Dana Delaney, Kate Flannery, Ronee Blakley, Ben Burtt, Illeana Douglas, TCM hosts Dave Karger, Eddie Muller, Ben Mankiewicz & Alicia Malone, TCM Programmer Charlie Tabesh, festival leaders Jennifer Dorian and Genevieve McGillicuddy, and the man who started it all – Ted Turner! The icing on the luminary cake, however, was the reunion of that very special WHEN HARRY MET SALLY triumvirate, Meg Ryan, Billy Crystal, and director Rob Reiner.
