DANIEL RADCLIFFE – His First Thoughts on DEATHLY HALLOWS

By: debbie lynn elias

As the clock ticks down to the final battle for the boy with the scar on his forehead who once lived under the cupboard, we are all filled with special memories of the magic and wonder of the HARRY POTTER movies. Back on September 6, 2007, while on his press tour for the charming little indie, “December Boys”, I had a chance to ask Daniel Radcliffe about HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS which had just been published on July 21.

Just so we get it out in the open right now. Did you bring your wand?

[Laughing] No, I didn’t.

DEATHLY HALLOWS hit the bookstores less than two months ago. I assume you’ve read it by now. So, what did you think of DEATHLY HALLOWS and the fact that Harry lives?

I’m very pleased because it means I get to live and I get a death scene, which is the best thing; a dream really. I’m really really pleased. I think what Jo did with it was remarkable; to write a book that good under so much pressure and hype is exceptional.
