How can one not have fun – and lots of laughs – when talking with writer/director MICHAEL P. BLEVINS and actor FORD AUSTIN about the oh-so-fun horror film, DIGGING TO DEATH? As you’ll hear in this exclusive interview with Michael and Ford, it’s impossible not to laugh, especially when Michael and Ford really get going with deliciously infectious and entertaining repartee and camaraderie, regaling us with tales of “manual labor”, rolling around in dirt and mud with a “corpse”, and so much more.
Who hasn’t hoped to dig up buried treasure in their own backyard or find hidden millions stashed in a basement or attic? I know I have. But what would you do if you found a hidden “box” in your backyard and in addition to a decomposing corpse there was $3 million?? That’s exactly where Michael Blevins takes us with DIGGING TO DEATH as David Van Owen (Ford Austin) buys a fixer-upper house he intends to restore himself and while digging a hole for a new septic tank, he finds this box instead of a septic tank. (Come to think of it, where is that darn septic tank?) So what’s a guy to do? Report the body and risk losing the money? Hide the money and leave the body in the box? Obsess and panic, driving himself into a psychotic frenzy?
In addition to FORD AUSTIN, Tom Fitzpatrick stars as The Corpse, veteran Richard Riehle is local landscaper Allen, Rachel Alig is David’s daughter Jessica, and Ken Hudson Campbell is David’s best friend Mark.
