Giorgio Serafini finds laughter and love in SENIOR MOMENT – Exclusive Interview

It’s not often that we see a film celebrating those in the AARP crowd, but that’s exactly what director GIORGIO SERAFINI and writers Kurt Brungardt and Christopher Momenee give us with the fun-filled SENIOR MOMENT. And it couldn’t arrive at a better time!

The story of retired NASA test pilot Victor Martin (William Shatner) who races around Palm Springs in his vintage Porsche with his best friend Sal, trying to impress women young enough to be his granddaughter, HIGH GROUND is enjoyable from beginning to end. Unfortunately, while speed may be an asset in space, it doesn’t count on land and Victor is forced to take public transportation or walk once his license is revoked and car impounded. Now left to his own trapping-free devices, Victor’s life is about to change when he meets Caroline on the bus. Can he navigate life and love and maybe even get the girl, all while trying to get his driver’s license and car back?

Boasting a stellar cast led by William Shatner, Jean Smart, and Christopher Lloyd, SENIOR MOMENT also features veteran comedy stalwarts Ruta Lee, Ron Gilbert, and Kaye Ballard along with Katrina Bowden, scene-stealing Don McManus, Esai Morales, and Carlos Miranda. And it’s a visual love letter to Palm Springs thanks to Serafini and cinematographer Marco Cappetta.

Lighthearted and jubilant, listen as Giorgio talks candidly in this exclusive conversation about assembling this cast, developing a light tone visually and within the story, decisions on aspect ratio to make the film more cinematic, editing comedy, the importance of collaboration on a film like this, and of course, jumping into comedy for the first time after a healthy career directing dramas and horror thrillers.

TAKE A LISTEN. . . . .
