JOSH STIFTER & DANIEL DEGNAN talk the deliciously dark and twisted (and fun) GREYWOOD’S PLOT – Exclusive Interview

No one should ever have as much fun discussing a horror film as filmmakers JOSH STIFTER and DANIEL DEGNAN and I did in this exclusive interview talking about all things GREYWOOD’S PLOT.  Speaking with Josh and Daniel it’s easy to understand why this film is as unique, dark and fun as it is.  GREYWOOD’S PLOT is deliciously dark and twisted.

Written by JOSH STIFTER and DANIEL DEGNAN and directed by Stifter, GREYWOOD’S PLOT stars Degnan and Stifter along with Keith Radichel, and is easily one of my favorite films of the year.

SYNOPSIS:  A struggling paranormal blogger named Dominic (Stifter) is on the verge of ending things forever when a mysterious package arrives on his doorstep and changes his life.  A rare sighting of a classic cryptid caught on tape sends Dom and his best friend Miles (Radichel) on a road trip to the Minnesota wilderness to find the fabled creature — and repair a fractured friendship along the way. Their half-baked journey leads them to a plot of land owned by an eccentric recluse by the name of Doug Greywood (Degnan).  As Miles and Dom’s friendship is tested by the vast and mysterious wilderness they soon find where their true loyalties lie.

Beautifully shot in black & white, Stifter and Degnan make a silk purse out of a no-budget sow’s ear, embracing a simplicity of storytelling with interesting characters, some terrific performances (do not overlook Keith Radichel who is amazing), and dynamic visual grammar.  With JOSH STIFTER as co-writer, director, editor, actor, and VFX artisan, and DANIEL DEGNAN as co-writer, actor, and “do whatever is necessary guy”, this is a showcase for guerrilla filmmaking.  The end result is a tale that is chilling thanks to a cinematic journey that celebrates their creativity as storytellers and filmmakers while finding the inherently delicious B-movie humor of the macabre.
