Just swipe right on the charming and affable DAVID LIPPER and JUST SWIPE – Exclusive Interview

An in-depth exclusive interview with one of the nicest guys in town, DAVID LIPPER, talking the charming JUST SWIPE.

Many may know him best as “Viper” from Full House and Fuller House.  Others may know him from his constant presence on television in series one-offs and telemovies or for the occasional appearance in a big-screen film like High Strung and the recent Reboot Camp. And still, others may recall one of his first appearances as that poor young man jumping into a hot springs spa turned sulphuric acid bath in Dante’s Peak.  But now, David is in fine stride co-starring alongside his former Full House co-star Jodie Sweetin in JUST SWIPE.

Talk about a charmer!  JUST SWIPE is Giddy and Gleeful.  Easy Breezy.  Light and Lovely.  By film’s end you just go “Awwwww.”

A sweet tale of dating and hopefully finding true love in the days of lockdown, dating apps, and Zoom, David IS his character of Brandon, a man who swipes right on Sweetin’s Vanessa.  Directed by Elizabeth Blake-Thomas and co-written by Blake-Thomas and sitcom writing legend Wendy Braff, the story itself is genuinely charming, harkening to days gone by of the 30s, 40s, 50s where courtship and becoming friends is the path to romance.  Keeping a light and bright tone, in addition to Lipper and Sweetin, JUST SWIPE also stars Alec Mapa, Danielle Perez, Jazzmun, and Naomi Grossman, just to name a few.

Affable, warm, open, passionate, and excited about his craft and the work, DAVID LIPPER is a pure joy, not to mention a non-stop workaholic with more films in post-production and more ready to shoot.

Candid and casual, David dives into everything about JUST SWIPE, from the script to casting, to developing his character of Brandon, to shooting 60 pages (yes, sixty pages) of script in one day, shooting during lockdown in Frank Sinatra’s former estate in Woodland Hills complete with the logistics of how they pulled off the shoot adhering to Covid protocols and using “social distancing” to advantage for this film, and more. One of the great benefits of speaking with David or a director having David on set is his wealth of experience in front of and behind the camera as a producer, writer, and director, as well as his desire to learn as much as he can about the filming and storytelling process, something that stands out throughout our conversation.  Plus, David takes a look back at some of his earlier roles as well as what’s ahead for him both as an actor and a director.
