Behind The Lens Radio Show – 04/02/2018

It’s a breath of fresh air on this episode of BEHIND THE LENS as we welcome in the springtime with PAT MILLS, writer/director of the new indie comedy DON’T TALK TO IRENE, plus exclusive interviews with IMELDA STAUNTON and MADELINE CARROLL.

Former Nickelodeon star turned writer/director, PAT MILLS joins us at the midpoint of the show to talk about all things IRENE, not to mention making the leap from child actor in front of the camera to writer/director behind the camera, and his journey to making DON’T TALK TO IRENE.  From unique production challenges and considerations such as senior actors and sunscreen, to cheerleading and dance choreography, as well as casting, notably effervescent newcomer Michelle McLeod and Oscar winner Geena Davis, and his own directorial learning curves, Pat is refreshingly candid, upbeat, and appreciative.

But before we get to Pat Mills, take a listen to our exclusive interview with IMELDA STAUNTON as she talks about her new film, FINDING YOUR FEET.  A film that will have you dancing on air with a smile on your face and a song in your heart, listen as Imelda talks about tackling something we haven’t seen from her before, working with longtime mates Timothy Spall and Celia Imrie, the beauty of this script and the issues presented, costume and hair, dancing, and outdoor pond swimming in England in November.

A real joy for all is our exclusive interview with MADELINE CARROLL.  A young woman we have all watched grow-up and mature before our eyes,  listen as she talks about her latest film, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE.  Always open and honest about her faith and belief in God’s guidance, Maddie talks about the film with a passion and conviction that belies her youth.  In addition, she opens up about the direction her career is now taking as she moves into producing.  But beyond entertaining are her anecdotes about working with Cloris Leachman and her life advice to the young star.
