BEHIND THE LENS kicks off Halloween month with a bang thanks to our special guests, RAVEN MAGWOOD talking THE HAUNTED TRAIL, and PAUL SCHUYLER talking RED RIVER ROAD! If you missed us live, now’s your chance to get creepy and terrified!
You may want to rethink your plans for visiting haunted houses or haunted forests after we chat with RAVEN MAGWOOD, co-writer, co-director with Robin Givens, and actor in THE HAUNTED TRAIL. A Halloween haunt gone awry with a trail of blood and dead bodies on top of the usually more than creepy “decor”, even I jumped more than a few times watching this one. As you listen to Raven, you’ll understand when one talks about “the devil is in the details” as she is a stickler for attention to detail and planning, something that is very evident on watching THE HAUNTED TRAIL. Knowledgeable and articulate, we dig into everything from location to story to casting to her debut acting as one of the principal players in this ensemble.
And then writer/director/editor/composer/cinematographer/actor, PAUL SCHUYLER joins us talking about his new film RED RIVER ROAD. One of the more interesting films to stem from the pandemic lockdown is this tale of a global pandemic that spreads through the internet and robs a person of their ability to perceive reality. (Not so far-fetched, is it!) Shot while on lockdown in May 2020 with the entire Schuyler family as actors and doing double duty with production duties, RED RIVER ROAD will give you chills and have you wondering “what is real”? Paul and I examine the film, the physical aspect of shooting within his own house and using his family as both actors and production crew, the challenges of lockdown shooting, editing, and more.
