BEHIND THE LENS gets the party started this week as we take a look at some cinematic highlights of LOS ANGELES FILM FESTIVAL, the new film MY BROTHER’S SHOES from ADAM REEVES, and the high energy documentary on the history of electronic dance music, WHAT WE STARTED.
First up is writer/director ADAM REEVES talking MY BROTHER’S SHOES! You never really know a person until you walk a mile, or spend a day, in their shoes and that’s just what MY BROTHER’S SHOES is all about as we get to learn about brothers Dallas and Austin Trent and the lengths of brotherly love and friendship. Thanks to Adam, you’ll learn all about casting (including country music star Pete Stringfellow), visual design and particularly as it is affected by the editing, story construct, and even scoring.
The party gets hopping though with co-directors BERT MARCUS and CYRUS SAIDI when we dive into WHAT WE STARTED. Fresh off their World Premiere at the LA Film Festival, from determining the interview subjects, to the development of the documentary throughline, to finding never-before-seen archival footage in order to provide a visually unique experience, not only do Bert and Cyrus give us an entertaining and engaging education on EDM within the film, but how the very essence of the music impacted the ebb and flow of the production itself.
