It’s the battle of the Chrises this week on BEHIND THE LENS as we welcome writer/director/actor CHRIS CORDONE and writer/director CHRISTOPHER BOONE.
No stranger to BTL, first up is writer/director/actor CHRIS CORDONE, back to talk with us again about the noir-ish comedy STEVIE-D. First with us in May while STEVIE-D was making the rounds on the festival circuit, but now Chris gets to expand on the filmmaker’s journey as he talks about the road to distribution. Filmmakers will glean terrific insight from Chris while moviegoers will get a better understanding of the distribution process. Plus, hear more about the cinematography of STEVIE-D as well as Chris’ own challenges as writer, director, producer AND actor in a dual role and, of course, how does a first time writer/director get Hal Linden in his cast.
A new friend to BEHIND THE LENS is writer/Director CHRISTOPHER BOONE who joins the show at the midpoint to talk about his feature writing/directorial debut, CENTS. The story of math whiz named Sammy who navigates not only the ins and outs of junior high school while being smart but unpopular, but also dealing with frenemies and a single workaholic mother, CENTS is a welcome light in the cinematic spectrum. You’ll be as appreciative as I, to hear Chris talk about his story and character research with focus on teachers, single parents and giving his female leads strong interests into math and science. You can hear the passion in Chris’ voice as he talks about the process of CENTS, as well as casting his four teenaged leads and his own directorial learning curve.
