Formosa Group’s Mark Mangini takes home Oscar® gold for Best Sound Editing for MAD MAX: FURY ROAD

Formosa Group, one of the most respected post-production sound companies in the entertainment industry and home to sound artists with 7 Academy Awards, proudly adds statuette number 8 with Sound Artist Mark Mangini’s Oscar® win for Best Sound Editing for Mad Max: Fury Road. Formosa’s Mangini, along with David White, took home the honors at the annual star-studded ceremony held at the world famous Dolby Theater in Hollywood. Competition in the category included nominees The Revenant (also featuring Formosa Sound Artist Lon Bender),The Martian, Sicario, and Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

Mad Max: Fury Road was also honored on Saturday evening at the MPSE Golden Reel Awards in a tie with The Revenant for Best Sound Editing: Sound Effects & Foley in a Feature Film. Formosa Group’s Mark Mangini and Scott Hecker (Mad Max) as well as Lon Bender (The Revenant) and their teams were winners along with The Revenant’s Randy Thom and Martin Hernandez.  Overall, Formosa Group took home five wins at the MPSE.
