Hannah Beachler Wins Art Directors’ Guild Award for BLACK PANTHER

DDA production designer Hannah Beachler received an Art Directors’ Guild Award for Excellence in Production Design in a Fantasy Feature Film in Los Angeles for her work on BLACK PANTHER.

“What an honor to be recognized for your work by the very community that inspires you every day,” Beachler said. “Thank you art directors for this recognition tonight. I want to congratulate all of the nominees tonight. It has been an outstanding year of world building.”

Beachler was nominated alongside Stuart Craig for “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”; Jon Hutman for “The House with a Clock in its Walls”; John Myhre for “Mary Poppins Returns”; and Adam Stockhausen for “Ready Player One”.

She also received an Academy Award nomination this year for Best Production Design, the first African American to do so. Beachler has taken home several other wins already for BLACK PANTHER, including: the Critics’ Choice Movie Award; the Saturn Award; and Best Production Design Awards from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, the San Francisco Film Critics Circle, the St. Louis Film Critics Association and the Washington D.C. Area Film Critics Association.
