Hollywood Critics Association announces August 2021 date for the 1st Annual HCA TV AWARDS

The Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) announced this week that the 1st Annual HCA TV Awards will take place in person on Sunday, August 22, 2021, in Los Angeles, California.

“As COVID-19 restrictions begin to lift around the country, we are looking forward to being back together for our first-ever TV Awards,” notes HCA Co-Chair Ashley Menzel. “Over these past fourteen months, many of us have been watching more television than ever before. This is why we are absolutely delighted that our first in-person event for 2021 will begin with a brand new event paying tribute to the best of television.”

The inaugural HCA TV Awards will be the first of its kind to separate Broadcast/Cable programming from Streaming. “We believe that honoring traditional television is crucial to maintaining the legacy of the medium,” adds HCA Chairman Scott Menzel. By separating Broadcast/Cable from Streaming, we give each television platform the ability to be recognized. In addition, we hope that by splitting these categories, we will be able to honor several series that would normally be overlooked.

The timeline for the HCA TV Awards is as follows:

May 26, 2021: Submissions deadline
June 25, 2021: Voting begins

July 14, 2021: Nominations revealed
