Production designer Fiona Crombie received an Oscar nomination for Best Production Design this morning for her work on THE FAVOURITE. Crombie, who was making lunch with set decorator Alice Felton and nearly missed the announcement, was overwhelmed with excitement.
“I didn’t expect the film would resonate the way it has,” said Crombie. “Being invited to the Oscar table is historic. Being included with my fellow nominees makes me feel included and so excited. I can’t wait to tell my kids when I get home!”
The nomination is Crombie’s first nod from the Academy. She is also nominated for a BAFTA for Best Production Design, as well as a Production Designers’ Guild Award for Best Period Film. Currently, Crombie is working on “The King” for David Michôd, scheduled for release in 2019.
