Programming Tribute Airing on Nov. 22 to Include
The Boy With Green Hair (1948) and Anchors Aweigh (1945)
Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will celebrate the life and career of actor Dean Stockwell with a programming tribute on Monday, Nov 22. Stockwell, who passed away on Nov. 7 at the age of 85, began his career before the age of 10 and continued working in film and television for more than 70 years. He worked under contract for MGM for most of his childhood, starring in films such as Anchors Aweigh (1945) and The Boy With Green Hair (1948). He had a resurgence in the 1980s with his hit show Quantum Leap on NBC.

6:00 a.m. Anchors Aweigh (1945) – A pair of sailors on leave try to help a movie extra become a singing star.
8:30 a.m. The Green Years (1946) – An orphaned Irish boy is taken in by his mother’s Scottish relations.
10:45 a.m. The Mighty McGurk (1946) – A punch-drunk prizefighter living on the Bowery takes in an orphaned boy.
12:30 p.m. The Happy Years (1950) – Friends and family try to tame an unruly student at the turn of the century.
2:30 p.m. The Secret Garden (1946) – An orphaned girl changes the lives of those she encounters at a remote estate.
4:30 p.m. Kim (1951) – Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale of an orphaned boy who helps the British Army against Indian rebels.
6:30 p.m. The Boy With Green Hair (1948) – An orphaned boy mystically acquires green hair and a mission to end war.
