THE GREASY HANDS PREACHERS now available on Vimeo

After a successful world premiere at the 2014 San Sebastian International Film Festival, “The Greasy Hands Preachers” makes its worldwide debut exclusively on Vimeo On Demand (https://vimeo.com/ondemand/theghp). The documentary explores a modern day return to manual work through the passion of motorcycle enthusiasts around the world, shot entirely on Super16mm.

Directed, written, and produced by Clement Beauvais and Arthur de Kersauson of Paris-based Mercenary Pictures, the film is executive produced by Orlando Bloom, Nicolas Manuel and Thomas Vignali. Cinematography is by Jacques Ballard, Ryan Carmody, Stephane Vallee and Valentin Vignet. Editor is Clement Beauvais and Composition is by Los Bevardos and Clement Beauvais.

“This doc is about people and their passion for machines, getting their hands greasy, giving up convention and following their dreams,” said Bloom.

Shot across California, Utah, Indonesia, Spain, Scotland and France, the filmmakers capture mechanics and custom shop founders as they try to understand the difference between manual and intellectual work. It explores the unique satisfaction that results from doing something tangible, the sense of time, the relation between the form and the function, the joy of riding in a beautiful landscape and the community and friendship that motorcycle creates.
