Based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s 1967 classic animated film of the same name, THE JUNGLE BOOK is an all-new, Jon Favreau directed, live-action epic adventure about Mowgli, a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds that he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan, who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. Urged to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery. Guided by the panther-turned-mentor Bagheera, and the free-spirited bear Baloo, along the way Mowgli and company encounter jungle creatures who don’t exactly have his best interests at heart, especially a python named Kaa and that smooth-talking self-proclaimed “King of Jungle”, Louie, who seeks the secret to the elusive and deadly red-flower called fire.
Boasting an all-star cast, THE JUNGLE BOOK brings together the voice talents of Idris Elba [Shere Khan], Sir Ben Kingsley [Bagheera], Bill Murrary [Baloo], Christopher Walker [King Louie], Scarlett Johansson [Kaa] and Lupita Nyong’o [Raksha] with the live action feature screen debut of young Neel Sethi as “Mowgli”.
Blending live-action with photorealistic 3D CGI animals and environs, technology and storytelling seamlessly meld to immerse the audience in the jaw-dropping lushness, beauty, fun, adventure, and danger, of THE JUNGLE BOOK.
THE JUNGLE BOOK swings into theatres in 3D on April 15, 2016.
