Take a look at just some of the thrills and chills coming your way:
MR. HARRIGAN’S PHONE: Written and directed by John Lee Hancock, MR. HARRIGAN’S PHONE is based on the short story by Stephen King and stars Donald Sutherland, Jaeden Martell, Joe Tippett, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Cyrus Arnold, Colin O’Brien, Thomas Francis Murphy, and Peggy J. Scott and is the story of Craig, a young boy living in a small town who befriends Mr. Harrigan, an older, reclusive billionaire. The two begin to form an unlikely bond over their love of books and reading. But when Mr. Harrigan sadly passes away, Craig discovers that not everything is dead and gone and strangely finds himself able to communicate with his friend from the grave through the iPhone in this supernatural coming-of-age story that shows that certain connections are never lost.
THE CURSE OF BRIDGE HOLLOW: Directed by Jeff Wadlow with script by Todd Berger and Robert Rugan, THE CURSE OF BRIDGE HOLLOW stars Marlon Wayans, Priah Ferguson, Kelly Rowland, Rob Riggle, John Michael Higgins, Nia Vardalos, Lauren Lapkus, Holly J. Barrett, Myles Vincent Perez, Abi Monterey, and Helen Slayton-Hughes in this tale of a father and his teenage daughter who are forced to team up and save their town after an ancient and mischievous spirit causes Halloween decorations to come to life and wreak havoc.
THE MIDNIGHT CLUB: Based on the beloved books of Christopher Pike, THE MIDNIGHT CLUB is a new horror series from Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong and stars Iman Benson, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Annarah Cymone, Chris Sumpter, Adia, Aya Furukawa, Sauriyan Sapkota, Matt Biedel, and Samantha Sloyan, with Zach Gilford and Heather Langenkamp. Set at a hospice with a mysterious history, the eight members of the Midnight Club meet each night at midnight to tell sinister stories – and to look for signs of the supernatural from the beyond.
UNSOLVED MYSTERIES: VOL 3: It’s baaaack! UNSOLVED MYSTERIES VOL 3 returns with a three-week event featuring more unexplained deaths, baffling disappearances, and bizarre paranormal activity.
DANIEL SPELLBOUND: A new kid series from creator Matt Fernandes, DANIEL SPELLBOUND stars Alex Barima, Chantel Riley, and Deven Mack in this magical tale set in modern-day New York City where the magic is real. While the magic may be hidden from the public, DANIEL SPELLBOUND knows exactly where to find it and makes his living tracking hard-to-find magical objects. But Daniel catches the attention of the wrong people when he discovers a rare artifact, placing the fate of the magical world in jeopardy.
WENDELL & WILD: At the top of my “must see” films and quite possibly the most anticipated Netflix film of this spooky season is WENDELL & WILD. Marking the return of one of the masters of stop-motion animation, writer/director Henry Selick joins forces with co-writer Jordan Peele to bring us the most devilishly delightful tale and creepy cool tale about scheming demon brothers Wendell and Wild (voiced by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, respectively) who enlist the aid of Kat Elliot – a tough teen with a load of guilt – to summon them to the Land of the Living. But what Kat demands in return leads to a brilliantly bizarre and comedic adventure like no other, an animated fantasy that defies the law of life and death, all told through the handmade artistry of stop motion. WENDELL & WILD stars the voice talents of Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Lyric Ross, Angela Bassett, James Hong, Tamara Smart, Natalie Martinez, Tantoo Cardinal, Igal Naor, Gary Gatewood, Gabrielle Dennis, David Harewood, Maxine Peake, Ramona Young, Sam Zelaya, Seema Virdi, and Ving Rhames.
