PREFACE by debbie lynn elias

In what is becoming a several-times-a-year event, it is my pleasure to bring you another review from my 6 year old nephew Tommy. A “movie shark” in his own right, it has become a tradition that Tommy, myself and my other “movie shark” nephew, Edward Raymond, see movies together, following which they dictate/write their own reviews of the respective film. In May, we brought you KUNG FU PANDA 2. This go-round is the MUCH anticipated CARS 2.

As an aside to this review, this was a very special movie-going experience as my brother Ed also came along. The last time he and I saw a movie together was back in 1968 with Disney’s “Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day” (which is why I was voting for WINNIE THE POOH as our movie choice this week). We were at the drive-in with our father in our gold Tempest Pontiac and we had the mumps, thus the benefit of drive-ins. The last time my brother Ed, however, has gone to a movie theatre pre-dates the multiplex and the fact that you must butter your own popcorn. And of course, Tommy’s commentary on the experience: “Daddy wouldn’t share his popcorn with me. And Eddie was annoying me.”

You’ve already read my review earlier on release, and now, on to Tommy’s review of CARS 2:

I liked the movie. It’s better than “Kung Fu Panda 2.”

They have secret agents called Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell. My favorite car is Finn McMissile because he can transform into a jet ski.

The movie is Lightning McQueen racing. In the beginning, Finn McMissile was on a boat and it took him to his enemies. They saw Finn McMissile and tried to get him, but Finn McMissile was too fast and sneaky and got away on his jet ski.

Finn McMissile was getting away and this boat shot two rockets at Finn McMissile but it missed him. He went underwater with his mouth cover on. Finn McMissile’s tires got out of the tire case. If his tires popped, he had to get new tires.

Mater was only a secret agent for a little bit. The bad side found Mater and McMissile and took them to the clock tower. [The bad cars] were trying to get McQueen but he was too fast and they couldnft get him.

I liked the car racing! Franceso [the Italian Formula One racer] won one match. McQueen won all the rest!

Axlerod was leaking oil and he blamed Mater. Professor Z was bad. Axelrod was his boss.

I liked the car bathroom. The bathroom was washing Mater but he didn’t like it because he had to go to the bathroom [not take a bath].

The movie animation looked good.
