Digital entertainment curator FilmBuff announced\u00a0 that they licensed\u00a0worldwide rights to distribute ROAD HARD, a semi-autobiographical comedy written, directed by and starring comedian and radio personality Adam Carolla. The film will open in select theaters nationwide and will be available on all major On Demand platforms starting Friday, March 6, 2015.<\/p>\n

ROAD HARD, a comedy inspired by Adam Carolla\u2019s own experiences, tells the story of a stand-up comedian who finds himself stuck in the torture chamber known as “the road\u201d. Desperate to revitalize his career, he tours one dingy comedy club after another and along the way rediscovers his love for comedy.<\/p>\n

“Going out on the road is a rite of passage for any comedian,” said filmmaker Adam Carolla. “I really wanted to tell a truthful and genuine story about life in the trenches\u00a0for a Stand Up, and I think FilmBuff was a perfect fit for us distribution-wise. Their expertise in the digital space makes them perfect partners to deliver this comedy to my fans and the world.”<\/p>\n

ROAD HARD marks Adam Carolla\u2019s directorial debut following his successful run as host of Comedy Central\u2019s \u201cThe Man Show\u201d and his syndicated radio show on CBS \u201cThe Adam Carolla Show\u201d. After cutbacks forced Adam to leave CBS, he started \u201cThe Adam Carolla Podcast\u201d (now \u201cThe Adam Carolla Show\u201d) with only a computer and a microphone from his home office in February 2009. The podcast is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most downloaded show on the internet, achieving more than 25 million downloads a month, and has been featured in Fast Company Magazine, Entrepreneur, the NY Times and the LA Times.<\/p>\n

ROAD HARD is co-written and co-directed by Adam Carolla and Kevin Hench and stars Adam Carolla (\u201cThe Adam Carolla Show\u201d, \u201cThe Man Show\u201d),\u00a0 Jay Mohr (Jerry Maguire<\/em>, \u201cGary Unmarried\u201d), Howie Mandel (\u201cDeal or No Deal\u201d, \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent\u201d) , David Koechner (Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Get Smart<\/em>), Dianne Farr (\u201cNumb3rs\u201d, \u201cRescue Me\u201d), Larry Miller (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang<\/em>, \u201c10 Things I Hate About You\u201d), David Alan Grier (Peeples,<\/em> \u201cIn Living Color\u201d), and Phil Rosenthal (Jewtopia<\/em>, \u201cEverybody Loves Raymond\u201d). The film is produced by Nate Adams, Adam Carolla and Kevin Hench and is executive produced by Mike August.<\/p>\n
