Screenwriters Matt Charman and Ethan Coen &amp; Joel Coen have woven this remarkable experience in Donovan\u2019s life into a story inspired by true events that captures the essence of a man who risked everything and vividly brings his personal journey to life. The film will be released in theaters nationwide on October 16, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Williams, whose credits include \u201cStars Wars: The Force Awakens\u201d and the \u201cHarry Potter\u201d films, will join Spielberg on his next film, \u201cThe BFG,\u201d beginning later this year, continuing their unprecedented collaboration which they have enjoyed for over 40 years.<\/p>\n<p>Newman has scored many films for DreamWorks, including &#8220;The Help,\u201d\u00a0\u201cRoad to Perdition&#8221; and &#8220;American Beauty,\u201d the latter two for which he received Academy Award\u00ae nominations for Best Original Score.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBridge of Spies\u201d also stars three-time Tony Award\u00ae winner Mark Rylance (\u201cTwelfth Night,\u201d \u201cJerusalem,\u201d \u201cBoeing Boeing\u201d) as Rudolf Abel, a KGB agent defended by Donovan; Scott Shepherd (\u201cSide Effects\u201d) as CIA operative Hoffman; Academy Award\u00ae nominee Amy Ryan (\u201cBirdman,\u201d \u201cGone Baby Gone\u201d) as James\u2019 wife, Mary; Sebastian Koch (\u201cA Good Day to Die Hard\u201d) as East German lawyer Vogel; and Academy Award nominee Alan Alda (\u201cM*A*S*H,\u201d \u201cThe Aviator\u201d) as Thomas Watters, a partner at Donovan\u2019s law firm.<\/p>\n<p>Fox 2000 Pictures co-financed \u201cBridge of Spies\u201d with DreamWorks in association with Participant Media, and will distribute internationally. Disney will handle domestic distribution. In addition to directing, Spielberg will produce the film with Marc Platt (\u201cInto the Woods,\u201d \u201cDrive\u201d) and Kristie Macosko Krieger (\u201cLincoln\u201d), with Adam Somner (\u201cThe Wolf of Wall Street\u201d), Daniel Lupi (\u201cHer\u201d), Jeff Skoll (\u201cThe Hundred-Foot Journey\u201d) and Jonathan King (\u201cCesar Chavez\u201d) serving as executive producers.
