Submissions due by February 24th."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tune in to BEHIND THE LENS on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 11:00 am PT\/2:00 pm ET as Timur Bekmambetov joins debbie elias live to talk about his latest venture, &#8220;Screenshare Filmmaking&#8221;, a new storytelling concept and program from Bazelevs which will take place in Austin, Texas in conjunction with the SXSW Film Festival!<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-13905\" src=\"http:\/\/behindthelensonline.net\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/timur-1-400x266.jpeg\" alt=\"timur - 1\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" srcset=\"https:\/\/behindthelensonline.net\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/timur-1-400x266.jpeg 400w, https:\/\/behindthelensonline.net\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/timur-1-300x199.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/behindthelensonline.net\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/timur-1.jpeg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Visionary filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov is offering a unique opportunity for bold, creative new artists to try their hand at the \u201cscreenshare\u201d filmmaking &#8211; verit\u00e9 storytelling set entirely on the screens of digital devices which he introduced with last year\u2019s hit thriller <em>Unfriended<\/em>. \u00a0His production company Bazelevs is looking for submissions from filmmakers from around the world to participate in an open source screenshare workshop that will begin on March 7th in Austin, Texas in conjunction with the SXSW Film Festival. \u00a0The end goal of the workshop is to shoot and edit eight screenshare shorts over a course of a week and live-stream the whole process of production on the site <a href=\"http:\/\/www.screensharefilms.com\/\">www.screensharefilms.com<\/a>, which will function as a masterclass in the \u201cscreenshare style\u201d not only to participants but to everybody in the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe at Bazelevs take a real interest in discovering and nurturing new talent and pioneering alternate forms of cinema and we\u2019re especially excited by the extraordinary possibilities this screenshare format offers. Our experiment <em>Unfriended<\/em> was just a beginning. We aim to continue working with young filmmakers to redefine all existing genres through the screenshare language.
