Photo courtesy of Pantelion Films.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"aolmail_MsoNormal\"><span class=\"aolmail_s1\">Mickey Liddell, the founder of LD Entertainment noted that <\/span>\u201c<span class=\"aolmail_s1\">We\u2019ve made a lot of serious movies lately so it will be fun to jump into a comedy this Fall with Ken Marino, fun actors, and lots of dogs.\u201d \u00a0<\/span><span class=\"aolmail_s1\">LD is fully financing the project and is going out to actors today. LD\u2019s Mickey Liddell, Pete Shilaimon, and Jennifer Monroe are producing. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"aolmail_MsoNormal\"><span class=\"aolmail_s1\">The company most recently produced Pablo Larrain\u2019s acclaimed \u201cJackie\u201d for which Natalie Portman was nominated for an Academy Award and \u201cMegan Leavey,\u201d starring Kate Mara. Last month, they announced they are teaming up with screenwriter Jeremy Garelick (\u201cThe Hangover\u201d) to launch a new company titled \u201cAmerican High\u201d to generate a slate of high school-set comedy features, the first of which is slated to begin shooting in March 2018. \u00a0<\/span>LD Entertainment is currently in post on four films: \u201cJacob<span lang=\"FR\">\u2019<\/span>s Ladder\u201d starring Michael Ealy and directed by David Rosenthal, \u201cFast Color\u201d directed by Julia Hart and starring GuGu Mbatha-Raw, \u201cLive Like Line\u201d starring Helen Hunt and William Hurt and directed by Sean McNamara, and \u201cThe Devil and Father Amorth,\u201d acclaimed director William Friedkin\u2019s documentary exploring the impact of his classic \u201cThe Exorcist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"aolmail_MsoNormal\"><span class=\"aolmail_s1\">Marino, probably best known for his work in front of the camera on Starz\u2019s &#8220;Party Down&#8221;, David Wain\u2019s My Damn Channel series &#8220;Wainy Days&#8221; and Adult Swim\u2019s &#8220;CHildren&#8217;s Hospital&#8221;,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"aolmail_s1\">\u00a0is coming off his successful feature directorial debut with the surprise success \u201cHow to be a Latin Lover,\u201d released by Lionsgate\u2019s Pantelion Films in April which has grossed to date over $60 million worldwide. \u00a0<\/span>Said Marino, \u201cI\u2019m very excited to direct a movie about dogs. All of my best friends are dogs. Truth be told, the only friends I have are dogs.
