The Walt Disney Studios has unveiled its upcoming slate following the recent acquisition of the Fox film studios, including changes to previously dated films and a number of major additions.<\/p>\n
After kicking off with the record-setting success of Marvel Studios\u2019\u00a0Avengers: Endgame<\/i>, The Walt Disney Studios\u2019 2019 summer slate includes Disney\u2019s\u00a0Aladdin<\/i>\u00a0on May 24, Fox\u2019s\u00a0Dark Phoenix<\/i>\u00a0on June 7, Pixar\u2019s\u00a0Toy Story 4\u00a0<\/i>on June 21, Fox\u2019s\u00a0Stuber<\/i>\u00a0on July 12, and Disney\u2019s\u00a0The Lion King<\/i>\u00a0on July 19. Fox 2000\u2019s\u00a0The Art of Racing in the Rain<\/i>\u00a0moves up to Aug. 9, and Fox Searchlight\u2019s\u00a0Ready or Not<\/i>\u00a0will release on Aug. 23, while three films move to later dates:\u00a0Ad Astra\u00a0<\/i>(9\/20\/19),\u00a0The New Mutants\u00a0<\/i>(4\/3\/20), and\u00a0Artemis Fowl<\/i>\u00a0(5\/29\/20).<\/p>\n

The Studios\u2019 2019 slate rounds out with Fox\u2019s\u00a0The Woman in the Window<\/i>\u00a0on Oct. 4 and\u00a0Ford V. Ferrari<\/i>\u00a0on Nov. 15, Disney\u2019s\u00a0Maleficent: Mistress of Evil<\/i>\u00a0on Oct. 18 and Disney Animation\u2019s\u00a0Frozen 2<\/i>\u00a0on Nov. 22,\u00a0Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker<\/i>\u00a0on Dec. 20, and Blue Sky Studios\u2019\u00a0Spies in Disguise<\/i>, moving from September to Christmas.<\/p>\n

Among early 2020 titles are Fox\u2019s\u00a0Underwater<\/i>\u00a0on Jan. 10, a new\u00a0Kingsman<\/i>\u00a0movie on Feb. 14, and\u00a0Call of the Wild<\/i>\u00a0on Feb. 21, followed by Pixar\u2019s\u00a0Onward<\/i>\u00a0on March 6 and Disney\u2019s\u00a0Mulan<\/i>\u00a0on March 27.<\/p>\n
The updated calendar also sets release dates for major franchises\u00a0Avatar<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0Star Wars<\/i>. With\u00a0Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker<\/i>\u00a0bringing the original Skywalker Saga to its conclusion, three new as-yet-untitledStar Wars<\/i>\u00a0films will release on the pre-Christmas weekend every other year beginning in 2022. Four forthcoming\u00a0Avatar<\/i>\u00a0films, expanding the vibrant world of Pandora, will release on the pre-Christmas weekend every other year beginning in 2021. In the holiday corridor for 2020, Fox\u2019s\u00a0West Side Story<\/i>\u00a0adaptation, directed by Steven Spielberg, will debut Dec. 18 in the pre-Christmas slot, with Disney\u2019s\u00a0Cruella\u00a0<\/i>opening Wednesday, Dec. 23, for the long holiday weekend.<\/p>\n
