Hold on to your stethoscopes folks because we’ve got a real treat for all the General Hospital fans out there with this episode of BEHIND THE LENS as we welcome PARRY SHEN live at the top of the show followed by writer\/director JASON RICHARD MILLER with Parry and Jason talking about their new film MADELINES!<\/p>\n
And yes, while Parry and I do talk about the latest trouble his GH character Brad Cooper is getting into with his Aunt Selina, the primary focus of our conversation is Parry’s new film – MADELINES!\u00a0 A time-traveling sci-fi thriller starring Parry along with Brea Grant (who has been on #BTLRadioShow before talking about her directorial “Night Shift”) and the legendary Richard Riehle, MADELINES is a true indie gem that I can’t recommend highly enough.<\/p>\n
SYNOPSIS”\u00a0 “Madeline and Owen are privately funded<\/em><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>scientists who have just discovered time travel by<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>sending an orange 1<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>minute<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>into the future. After Owen pushes to do a mouse test that fails<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>horribly,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Madeline decides to fine-tune the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>time machine and test it on herself. The<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>experiment<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>seems to be a success until Owen is attacked by a copy of<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Madeline<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>that shows up in their<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>backyard. After accidentally killing the Madeline copy,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Owen and Madeline<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>discover that there<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>was a mistake in the software code which<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>resulted in a loop. After some quick math, Madeline<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and Owen realize that a new<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>copy of Madeline will appear in their backyard every day for the next<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>9 years if<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>they<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>don\u2019t figure out a way to fix it. Owen decides that they need to kill each<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Madeline<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>when they show up to prevent a<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>time paradox which could destroy the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>universe and their<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>marriage.”<\/span><\/em><\/p>\nTake a listen and you\u2019ll not only hear some #GH intel (Parry is already looking forward to April 1, 2023 and GH\u2019s 60th birthday) as well as how daily soap work prepares you for indie films like MADELINES, but Parry dives into discussions on his preparation for a role, what he looks for when a script comes his way (note to casting agents and directors – when you think action, think of Parry Shen), some of his early television work like \u201cSabrina the Teenage Witch\u201d and \u201cTru Calling\u201d and the ups and downs of the business, as well as his voicing on video games including mo-cap work, and so much more.
