The lineup for the weekend will also include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Steven Spielberg<\/strong>\u00a0in Q&amp;A with UCLA Film School\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Howard Suber\u00a0<\/strong>ahead of the director\u2019s cut of Spielberg\u2019s film\u00a0<strong><em>Close Encounters of the Third Kind<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(1977)<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>A Little Romance<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(1979) with star\u00a0<strong>Diane Lane<\/strong>\u00a0in conversation with\u00a0<strong>TCM Host Ben Mankiewicz<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>The Shawshank Redemption<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(1994) with stars\u00a0<strong>Morgan Freeman<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Tim Robbins<\/strong>\u00a0in attendance<\/li>\n<li>Filmmaker\u00a0<strong>Nancy Meyers<\/strong>\u00a0introduces the world premiere restoration of one of her favorite movies,\u00a0<strong><em>North By Northwest<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(1959), completed by Warner Bros. and The Film Foundation<\/li>\n<li>Director\u00a0<strong>David Fincher<\/strong>\u00a0presenting a world premiere restoration IMAX\u00ae screening of his 1995 thriller\u00a0<strong><em>Se7en<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>A cast reunion for\u00a0<strong><em>Little Women<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(1994) featuring\u00a0<strong>Trini Alvarado, Samantha Mathis\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0Eric Stoltz<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>A world premiere restoration of\u00a0<strong><em>The Searchers<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(1956), completed by Warner Bros. and The Film Foundation, introduced by writer\/director\u00a0<strong>Alexander Payne<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><em>Jeopardy!<\/em>\u00a0host\u00a0<strong>Ken Jennings<\/strong>\u00a0introduces a U.S. premiere restoration of\u00a0<strong><em>The Small Back Room<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(1949), restored by The Film Foundation and courtesy of Rialto Pictures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, TCM and Warner Bros. will present\u00a0<strong>That\u2019s Vitaphone!: The Return of Sound-on-Disc.<\/strong>\u00a0For the first time in more 90 years, six hilarious, often outlandish, Vitaphone vaudeville shorts of the 1920s will be projected in 35mm, with sound played back from their original 16-inch discs on a turntable designed and engineered\u00a0by Warner Bros. Post Production Engineering Department. In 1926, Warner Bros., with technology developed by Western Electric, introduced Vitaphone, a system of adding high fidelity synchronized sound to motion pictures, using discs mechanically coupled to the movie projector.\u00a0Vitaphone would usher in the talking picture\u00a0with the premiere of\u00a0<em>The Jazz Singer\u00a0<\/em>in October 1927. \u00a0By\u00a0the early 1930s, though,\u00a0sound-on-disc would be replaced industry-wide by the less cumbersome sound on film. This replica of a Vitaphone machine, the only in existence, marks the first time modern audiences will be able to experience these films as they did in the 1920s, using discs restored from the era.
