Allen\u2019s Vulcan Productions <\/strong>and <strong>Morgan Spurlock\u2019s Cinelan<\/strong> today announced the full cast of over 80 actors, artists and thought leaders who have joined world-renowned directors and leading economic advisors in the groundbreaking new series <strong>WE THE ECONOMY <em>20 Short Films You Can\u2019t Afford to Miss<\/em><\/strong>. Good environmental policy is also good economic policy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carole Tomko<\/strong>, General Manager and Creative Director of Vulcan Productions, adds, \u201cAt its core, the vision of this project is to fuse artistry and storytelling with economic expertise to engage the public in a truly informed dialogue about the U.S. economy.\u201d She continues, \u201cThis esteemed group of artists and thinkers galvanizes our mission of bringing innovation to the public discourse about the economy, and empowering people to make better economic choices in their own lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The voice-over artists are: <strong>Maria Bamford <\/strong>(<em>The Maria Bamford Show<\/em>)<strong>, Billy Eichner<\/strong> (<em>What Happens In Vegas<\/em>), <strong>Shad \u201cDa Beast\u201d Gaspard<\/strong> (professional wrestler), <strong>Tony Hale<\/strong> (<em>Veep)<\/em>, <strong>Erin Jackson<\/strong> (<em>Exhale<\/em>, <em>Last Comic Standing<\/em>), <strong>Phil LaMarr <\/strong>(Futurama, MADtv)<strong>, Thomas Middleditch<\/strong> (<em>Silicon Valley<\/em>), <strong>Jayson Anthony Paul a\/k\/a JTG<\/strong> (professional wrestler), <strong>Amy Poehler<\/strong> (<em>Parks &amp; Recreation<\/em>), <strong>Maya Rudolph<\/strong> (<em>Bridesmaids<\/em>), <strong>Andy Richter<\/strong> (<em>Elf<\/em>), <strong>Rob Riggle<\/strong> (<em>The Hangover<\/em>) and <strong>Sarah Silverman<\/strong> (<em>The Muppets<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe real challenge was confining the film to less than seven minutes,\u201d said\u00a0<strong>WE THE ECONOMY\u00a0<\/strong>actor\/director\u00a0<strong>Bob Balaban<\/strong>. \u201cExperts don&#8217;t speak in sound bites. And funny improvisers don&#8217;t necessarily get to the point quickly. But finally we applied a mix of utter silliness to what can be a very technical and serious subject and came up with something we hope will both inform and entertain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>WE THE ECONOMY<\/strong> also features original music by composers <strong>Jeff Beal<\/strong> (<em>House Of Cards<\/em>) and <strong>Moby<\/strong>, and dance performances by <strong>Pilobolus, Harrell, Hokuto &#8220;Hok&#8221; Konishi <\/strong>(member of hip-hop dance crew Quest Crew) and dancers from the <em>Step Up<\/em> franchise.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201c<\/strong>The thought of making a short film explaining the tax system made my temples throb. Cover the origins and complexities of our National Headache in less than five minutes? Oy,\u201d said <strong>WE THE ECONOMY<\/strong> director <strong>Jessica Yu<\/strong>. \u201cWe used the model of \u2018Schoolhouse Rock\u2019 to create an animated musical with characters navigating the ever-changing \u2018tax highway.\u2019 Hopefully the refrain is as stick-in-your-head as any Schoolhouse tune.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The experts and thought leaders appearing in the films are: <strong>Daron Acemoglu <\/strong>(MIT economist), <strong>Anat Admati <\/strong>(George G.C.
