Lotus Entertainment\u00a0and di Bonaventura Pictures\u00a0announced today Keanu Reeves will star in\u00a0REPLICAS<\/strong>\u00a0from director Tanya Wexler,\u00a0the\u00a0follow-up to\u00a0her successful hit\u00a0(HYSTERIA).\u00a0From a screenplay by Chad St. John,\u00a0REPLICAS<\/strong>\u00a0is produced by\u00a0Lorenzo di Bonaventura (GI JOE, TRANSFORMERS\u00a0Franchises),\u00a0Stephen Hamel,\u00a0Reeves, and Fundamental Films.\u00a0Company Films\u2019\u00a0partners Hamel\u00a0and\u00a0Reeves developed the script based on Hamel\u2019s treatment.\u00a0Lotus will introduce the sci-fi thriller to foreign buyers starting at the upcoming AFM.\u00a0CAA\u00a0is handling domestic\u00a0rights.<\/p>\n

After a car accident kills his loving family, a daring neuroscientist will stop at nothing to bring them back, even if it means pitting himself against a government-controlled laboratory, a police task force, and the physical laws of science themselves.\u00a0Production is slated for spring 2015.<\/p>\n

No stranger to sci-fi action films, Reeves is possibly best known for his role as \u201cNeo\u201d in the wildly popular\u00a0THE MATRIX TRILOGY. Reeves highly anticipated action film\u00a0JOHN WICK\u00a0opened this month.<\/p>\n

Lotus Entertainment\u2019s Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel\u00a0said, \u201cWe loved the notion of taking the ‘how far will a man go to save his family’\u00a0story\u00a0hook and then adding a high concept sci-fi twist. Keanu has obviously had a lot of success in the sci-fi genre and we are excited to have him anchoring a story which we believe will have great appeal to audiences\u00a0across\u00a0the globe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Di Bonaventura commented,\u00a0\u201cFrom my experience working with Keanu on THE MATRIX\u00a0franchise through our collaboration on CONSTANTINE, I have always been impressed by Keanu\u2019s ability to bring a genuine level of humanity to the sci-fi genre through his performance. \u00a0I am looking forward to collaborating with Keanu once again on this unique take on what lengths a person will go to alter the past, and the implications of those actions.\u201d<\/p>\n
