Haim Saban, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Saban Capital Group, Inc. (“SCG”), has announced that the company has acquired the North American distribution rights to the crime thriller THE TRUST starring Academy Award\u00ae winner Nicolas Cage (ADAPTATION, LEAVING LAS VEGAS, JOE). The film is co-written by Ben Brewer and Adam Hirsch and will be directed by Ben and Alex Brewer. THE TRUST is currently in pre-production with lensing in Las Vegas, NV.<\/p>\n

\"nic<\/a><\/p>\n

THE TRUST centers on two crooked cops who discover a hidden safe, the contents of which will lead them down a deadly road of corruption.\u00a0 With each shocking twist, and every deadly turn, the pair are left fighting for their lives, with no one left to trust. Not even themselves.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe script for THE TRUST was incredibly captivating and tells such a riveting story,\u201d said Saban President Bill Bromiley. \u201cAudiences everywhere will love Nicolas Cage in this role and it\u2019s a great addition to the Saban Films portfolio.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bromiley and Ness Saban negotiated on behalf of Saban Films and Highland Film Group (HFG) on behalf of the producers. Molly Hassell and Braxton Pope are producing. THE TRUST is a Hassell Free Production in association with Electric Shadow Fund who is providing finance. Mike Nilon will executive produce along with HFG\u2019s Arianne Fraser and Delphine Perrier. Highland Film Group is handling the worldwide sales for the film.<\/p>\n

Saban Films\u2019 first acquisition, THE HOMESMAN, starring Academy Award\u00ae winners Tommy Lee Jones and Hilary Swank will screen at the upcoming AFI Festival as part of the gala lineup on November 11th<\/sup>. The film will be released stateside with Roadside Attractions on November 14th.<\/sup><\/p>\n

Saban Films recently acquired the U.S. rights to John Travolta\u2019s THE FORGER, the action thriller TRACERS starring Taylor Lautner and Marie Avgeropoulos from Temple Hill Entertainment and AMERICAN HEIST starring Hayden Christensen, Academy Award Winner\u00ae Adrien Brody, Jordana Brewster, Tory Kittles and Aliaune \u201cAKON\u201d Thiam.<\/p>\n
